UK children’s book publisher, Bonnier Publishing, has acquired the UK master publishing rights for Barbie.
Bonnier Publishing has acquired the rights from Mattel to publish all new titles and will launch with a range of colouring, activity and novelty formats, which will be followed by new innovative formats towards the end of the year.
Richard Johnson, CEO of Bonnier Publishing, said: “Barbie is the number one girls property in the UK and this key addition to our list shows our commitment to becoming the market leader in children’s publishing. We are delighted to welcome Barbie to the Bonnier family.”
This agreement follows Bonnier Publishing’s Australian company, The Five Mile Press, which is already the master licensee for Barbie in Australia.
Bonnier Publishing is part of the Bonnier company in Sweden.
