Condé Nast Center of Fashion & Design now open in Shanghai

Courses scheduled to open by Chinese New Year 2016 include Fashion Media and Digital Communication; Fashion Marketing and Branding; E-commerce for Fashion and Luxury; Fashion Illustration for Beginners; Experimental Fashion Illustration; The Little Black Dress (Design, Cut and Make a Classic Style); Dress for Success; The Universe of Perfume, and Fashion Photography and Styling. 

Applications for more intakes of the above courses for 2016 are now being taken, with additional courses in the fields of visual merchandising, retail, digital marketing, jewellery design and fashion design are being developed. 

In addition there is a fully sponsored Protégé Programme, Advanced Fashion Design, open to applicants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, supported by luxury retailer ATTOS. Scholarships will be awarded in December to those selected by a panel including Angelica Cheung, Editorial Director of Vogue China; Susan Jenkyn Jones, Senior Academic Director of Condé Nast Center; and Timothy Goh, the CEO of ATTOS. 

Dominique Simard, Executive Director of the Center, comments, “We are delighted to welcome our first participants, and to assist in creating the next generation of talent in the fashion industry. We will be capitalising on the considerable authority and expertise which Condé Nast is known for, offering unrivalled access to what is recognised as a hard-to-enter industry, improving the participants’ chances of achieving their career goals.” 

The Center’s Advisory Board includes Liz Schimel, President of Condé Nast China, and Angelica Cheung, Editorial Director of Vogue China. 

The Condé Nast Center of Fashion & Design is located on Mid Huaihai Road, at the heart of the fashion and luxury retail district in Shanghai. The Center is equipped with cutting-edge digital and educational facilities, offering a benchmark learning environment. The Center also operates as a multifunctional space, with opportunity to host fashion shows, conferences, exhibitions and other events. 

Condé Nast International runs several ventures in education, including in Spain where the Vogue Masters in Communication, Fashion and Beauty is operated in conjunction with University Carlos III. Meanwhile in London the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design launched in April 2013, and to date over 600 students have studied at the College from more than 50 different countries.
