Empire Magazine prints five iconic collector’s covers to mark 100 greatest films poll

The July issue, on sale on Thursday 15 June, will feature a split cover run featuring The Godfather, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pulp Fiction and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

Five thousand film-lovers visited empireonline.com to cast their votes in the poll, resulting in a definitive list of the 100 Greatest Movies ever made

Empire first asked its readers to vote for their favourite-ever movie 21 years ago, when Pulp Fiction landed the top spot, in 2008 the winner was The Godfather and a further poll in 2014 saw Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back declared the most-loved film.

Terri White, editor-in-chief of Empire, commented: “Nearly 5,000 readers voted in our 100 Greatest Movies poll and when it came to choosing which film should grace the cover, we shared their pain at having to pick between our favourites! So, you know what: we didn’t. Instead we chose five iconic films from the top 20, which means there’s a cover for everyone – or all five if you’re as fanatical about films about us…“
