The secure messaging apps gaining from the WhatsApp exodus

As you’ve probably heard by now, WhatsApp’s reputation is on the rocks. It began with a poorly phrased announcement on 6 January, which informed users about a forthcoming change to the encrypted messaging app’s privacy policy. This prompted confusion and fears that Facebook – its parent company – would be able to read people’s private messages.
