Audience engagement in the spotlight as the Audiencers Festival arrives in Montréal
Exploring innovative ways publishers can better engage, convert and retain their audiences, the Audiencers Festival returns on 25 June with Montréal hosting the event for the first time.
The Festival, created by B2B media platform and community Audiencers, will cover a range of timely topics, including monetising niche communities; what media companies can learn from the subscription economy; how to marry customer needs with business growth; and the role AI is playing in helping newsrooms build engagement.

Among the stellar line-up of speakers confirmed are Emilie Harkin, SVP, Growth at The Guardian; Max Moné, Co-founder of Poool; Marc Gendron, Principal Director, Audiences and Platforms at Les Coops de l’Information; Nolwenn Pasquiem, CMO at Ouest-France; Gilles Lajoie General Manager of Protégez-vous; Catherine Léger, Head of Marketing Performance at Radio Canada; Jean-Pierre Bastien, Head of Innovation & AI Transformation at Urbania; and Rachel Mines, Director, Subscriptions at Skift.
“For our 12th Festival, and third in North America, we’re excited to bring Audiencers together in Montréal where we’ll dive into innovative strategies already being used to build a sustainable reader revenue model,” says Madeleine White, co-founder of Audiencers and VP of Marketing at Poool.
“Best practices from outside the media industry, ‘pay what you can’ and other unique acquisition campaigns, obligatory registration, building the foundations of an ‘AI in the newsroom’ strategy, packaging subscriptions with user needs in mind… We won’t be short of talking points!”
According to White, who co-founded Audiencers with Poool CMO Marion Wyss, what sets the event apart is the operational nature of its sessions.
“Speakers aren’t just showing off shiny results, but sharing the decisions, metrics, teams and technology behind-the-scenes that allowed them to achieve such success,” she points out.
“It’s part of our mission at Audiencers – that you leave knowing exactly what you need to do to solve your current challenges, impress your boss and achieve your business goals.”
