About

A New Chapter as FIPP and WAN-IFRA unite

FIPP has merged with WAN-IFRA, the World Association of News Publishers, creating the world’s largest and most diverse global alliance of media companies. Together, we now unite over 20,000 media brands and technology companies across 120 countries.

For 100 years – since 1925. – FIPP has been a global network connecting publishers, creators, platforms and innovators who shape the future of magazines, consumer media and special-interest publishing. Now, as part of WAN-IFRA, we’re stronger than ever – combining our century of expertise with WAN-IFRA’s nearly 80 years of experience supporting independent news media worldwide.

What this means for you

This merge with WAN-IFRA is about growth, not change. FIPP Members keep everything they value – events, research, community and expertise – while gaining access to a much broader network and deeper resources across the entire media ecosystem.

Whether you’re focused on audience growth, technology, revenue innovation, print, digital, or leadership, you now have access to practical experience and global peer learning that simply wasn’t connected before.

Our mission

FIPP remains committed to connecting global media and helping our members grow their businesses. We continue to champion:

  • Press freedom and sustainable innovation
  • Intellectual property rights for creators
  • Fair, open, and ethical media practices
  • A diverse and thriving global media ecosystem

What We Do

Through exclusive research, world-class events like the FIPP World Media Congress (returning to Madrid in October 2026), expert training programmes and our vibrant community of media leaders, FIPP provides the insights, connections and opportunities you need to thrive.

The FIPP World Media Congress brings together the brightest minds in consumer and special-interest media for inspiring keynotes, practical workshops, and unparalleled networking opportunities.

Now, as part of WAN-IFRA, our members also gain access to the Knowledge Hub – a constantly growing library of research, case studies, and practical resources from around the world – plus global expert groups, roundtables and connections with peers across journalism, consumer media and beyond. Members can also attend the WAN-IFRA’s flagship World News Media Congress and regional events worldwide.
