Upday award G+J iMS their advertising sales contract for the UK and Ireland

Effective immediately, G+J iMS, the UK based advertising sales division of Gruner+Jahr will exclusively sell digital commercial solutions across the Upday news app in the UK and Ireland.

Upday is available in 34 countries, has 25m unique users and eight editorial content hubs in London, Berlin, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Warsaw, Stockholm and Amsterdam. It has already integrated over 5,000 publisher brands and offers users a clear and fresh presentation of news and ads. The latter integrate natively in the news-stream with no overlay formats to preserve the user experience.

Upday is divided into two sections:

  1. Top News – curated daily by teams of journalists into editorial cards, who both select and write the most important news you need to know, and breaking news as it happens. Circa 40 cards per day per country.
  2. My News – a personalised news feed that through an AI engine analyses millions of keywords and matches them to your reading preferences as well as selected user choices.

Upday solutions include display, video, vertical video, native and branded content, with 1st party data based on user interests, reading preferences, gender, keyword, geo, device and operating system. The news service is preinstalled on a broad variety of Samsung smartphones  and tablets.

Chris Turner-Green, UK Managing Director, G+J iMS said “We are excited to be forging a new partnership with Upday, Europe’s biggest News-App. This agreement is a perfect fit for both of us and will mean G+J iMS can offer clients all the best digital advertising solutions across Europe in one place.”

“Upday offers a highly elaborated user experience through personalised content and non-intrusive ads. This unique approach is highly appreciated by users and advertisers at the same time”, said Robert Langenbach, Director Sales from Upday. “Together with G+J iMS we want to extend our position in the international advertising market. G+J iMS is specialised in high-quality media for upscale target groups and thus fits very well with our fake news free platform.”
