Digital Newsstands to be discussed at FIPP Bangkok event

This year’s Worldwide Magazine Marketplace (WMM) on 14-15 May in Bangkok, Thailand, is set to be more innovative than ever. As well as providing attendees the opportunity to meet potential licensing partners from all over the world, FIPP is introducing the Digital Newsstand Forum (DNF) – a chance to consider and discuss the biggest issues arising from the emergence of tablet magazines.

The launch of digital newsstands have caused all sorts of repercussions for media owners. For this reason, FIPP has launched the DNF – a chance for attendees to take a comprehensive, in-depth and practical look at developing content and commercial strategies for digital newsstands.

The beauty of holding the WMM and DNF together, means that you will be able to attend two events for the price of one, and dip in and out of each as you desire. But don’t just take our word from it – see what past attendees and influential industry executives have to say about the WMM and DNF:

Why should you attend WMM?
“We come here every year, because it’s one of the best places to be if you want to create new business deals around the world. We’ve been extremely successful by coming to WMM – it really works for us!”
Anthony Luke, international operations manager, Hola!, Spain

“WMM is a fantastic opportunity to further promote your brand, develop your business and meet partners. In one day, you can have meetings, which would otherwise require a lot of travelling. It’s a very efficient gathering of people with the same goals.”
Zeno Pellizzari, general manager, Mondadori International Business, Italy

“So many international publishers come here every year to find new partners, so it’s THE place to be and do business. I love it, and have been to every single WMM!”
Frances Evans, international licensing and advertising director, Hubert Burda Media, Germany

“I’ve been coming to WMM for as long as it’s been around – more than 10 years!”
Simon Greves, international director and publisher, Bauer Media, UK

“WMM is a great way to make contacts and enlarge our network.”
Will Salmon, international licensing manager, Time Out Group, UK

And why should you attend the DNF?

“Publishing was never a slow-moving industry, but now that we’re moving at the speed of Apple and Google (two companies not known for hanging around!), we need to innovate faster than ever. The DNF is a meeting of minds focused on developing business intelligence, creating new opportunities, and increasing digital revenue – you’d be crazy to miss it.”
Paul Hudson, director, FutureFolio, UK
