New York magazine wins US cover competition

New York magazine has been named magazine cover of the year in the American Society of Magazine Editors’ annual Best Cover Contest.

The competition honoured magazine covers published between January-December 2012, in 10 categories. Three finalists in each category are selected by a jury composed of leading editors, art directors, and photography editors. ASME members vote to choose the winner in each category and the Cover of the Year.

The Cover of the Year and the winner in each category were announced at the ASME Annual Meeting on 1 May. Finalists in each category receive certificates of recognition. The winner of the Cover of the Year receives an award that includes a reproduction of the winning cover.
