Samantha Barry appointed Glamour’s first Global Editorial Director

Condé Nast has announced the appointment of Samantha Barry as Glamour’s first Global Editorial Director. Barry, who has been the Editor-in-Chief of Glamour US. since 2018 and in 2021 became Americas Editorial Director, will oversee all content strategy for Glamour across the brand’s global editions in Germany, Mexico and Latin American, Spain, UK, and the US.

Under Barry’s leadership as Editor-in-Chief of Glamour US., the women’s title has transformed into a digital-first brand while growing its audience and engagement, in addition to video and commerce capabilities.

During her tenure, she has evolved the annual Women of the Year Awards into a global celebration that champions Glamour’s diverse community around the world. Glamour’s award-winning journalism continues to advocate for women with campaigns including The Time to Pass Paid Leave Is Now and 2024 Election: What’s at Stake for Women

Barry has done some powerful features and interviews for the brand, including travelling to Malawi with Amal Clooney, Melinda Gates and Michelle Obama for a special report on their fight to end child marriage.

Prior to joining Condé Nast, Barry served as Executive Producer at CNN where she ran the global social and emerging media teams. She serves on the advisory board of Goals House and Room to Read and recently received an Honorary Doctorate from Ulster University.
