Business Media CZ CEO: This is why I attend the FIPP Insight Forum
This is also where we award the FIPP Insight Awards for the best studies worldwide.
The FIPP Insight Forum and Awards is a smaller, more intimate event designed to foster a high degree of interaction, critical discussion and actionable take-outs. This year’s event takes place on 18-19 May at Sanoma’s offices in Hoofdorp, The Netherlands.
The idea behind the event is to allow delegates to come together to discuss, face-to-face, latest industry insight research, trends and experiences to foster ongoing development of the ROI of magazines in their markets, and the industry overall.
It is done through an intense two days of presentations, deep-dive workshops and general networking opportunity.
Here is Tomas Tkacik, CEO of Business Media CZ (the Czech Republic), on why he attends the FIPP Insight Forum and Awards.
Why do you see value in the Forum and Awards?
Firstly, it brings together the best researchers from the publishing world to gather once a year, for two days, to exchange the ideas, projects and experiences. Secondly, the annual Awards provide an outstanding evaluation of the best projects and nice reward for the competing teams.
Why is getting together as an industry, sharing research insight important?
There is only so much that can be done via emails, webinars or teleconferences. It is very useful to engage face to face, to brainstorm and discuss results.
How does attending benefit your wider organisation?
On the one hand, the Forum shows us the results of similar projects we are working on. On the other hand, it helps us with ideas to launch another interesting surveys and studies.
What are the top magazine media priorities on your radar screen at the moment?
I would say (1) cross-media research with channels including TV, Internet, print and radio; (2) the effectiveness of print advertising (Starchmetrix, RFID codes and so on); and (3) improvements in our national readership survey.
