Bauer Media appoints Jan Wachtel as President of Publishing Business Area
Bauer Media Group has appointed a new President for its publishing business globally. Jan Wachtel will join the company on January 1st 2023, and head-up the company’s next wave of digital transformation around the world.
Currently co-CEO Firstlead GmbH – Adcell, an affiliate network, Jan has worked with companies including Axel Springer, BILD, and RTL Group, where he was on the Executive Board.
Commenting on the appointment, Bauer Media Group CEO Yvonne Bauer, said: “Publishing as a sector is undergoing a period of unpredicted change. Jan’s print and digital publishing experience means he is ideally placed to drive the transformation of our Publishing business. This will enable us to maximize our print publishing while at the same time accelerating digital growth.”
With a publishing business that has sat at the heart of Bauer for almost 150 years, the company’s current portfolio sits at more than 400 titles and over 100 digital products across Germany, Poland, France, and the UK.
