The 2022 DistriPress Congress will take place in Estoril, Portugal from Sunday 18th – Wednesday 21st September, bringing together businesses from the publishing, production, marketing, distribution and sales sectors of the global media industry.
It’s an event that offers prime opportunity for industry networking, with a dedicated business meeting hall and a wealth of social events and informal gatherings alongside. This year, the main meeting space will also include an industry newsstand, displaying 100 of the best newspaper and magazine titles available globally.
Kicking off the proceedings on Monday 19th is a special Forum including a range of speakers, who will take to the stage to provide key insights on numerous areas of the industry.
Wessenden Marketing’s Jim Bilton, Author of DistriPress’ latest report on ‘Data-Driven Supply in Newspapers & Magazines’ will provide an overview of the global market today, outlining where publishers can optimise current practices and seek out new opportunities.
He’ll be joined by speakers from organisations including Monocle, MagCulture, Mediahuis and more.
An industry In Vogue
Earlier this year, ahead of FIPP’s own Congress in the Cascais Citadel, just down the road from the Estoril Congress Centre, we spoke to MagCulture’s Jeremy Leslie on the current resurgence in the popularity of print products, particularly in the indie sector:
“The growth of the indies has reminded the mainstream publishers of the strengths of the magazine format: knowing what your speciality is and building tight relationships with a smaller group of readers that share that interest. Quality not quantity!”
It’s an area of the industry generating a great deal of interest right now, particularly when it comes to bundling different platforms into single subscription offerings, as the recent relaunch of CREEM magazine demonstrates.
FIPP will be on-hand at the DistriPress Congress to bring you the latest and greatest updates from this critical cornerstone of the industry, and in the meantime you can find out more about the event here.
