Entry deadline looms for PPA Awards

Time is fast running out for B2B and consumer media companies to enter the 2023 Professional Publishers Association (PPA) awards. The extended deadline for the annual prize-giving celebrating outstanding achievements, innovation and progress in UK specialist media is this Thursday, 23 February.

The PPA Awards has 27 categories – including Media Brand of the Year (both consumer and B2B), Writer of the Year, Sustainability Initiative of the Year and the Diversity & Inclusion Award – and the eligibility period is from 1 January 2022 – 31 January 2023.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges made up of editors, directors and industry experts including FIPP President & CEO James Hewes, with the ceremony taking place on Wednesday 28 June at City Central at the HAC in London.

The PPA represents, champions and supports specialist media businesses, with members ranging from large multi-national companies to smaller independent publishers, and from consumer magazine media to B2B news, data and information providers.

The 300+ PPA members include the UK’s largest publishing houses, including Bauer Media Group, Condé Nast, Future PLC, Haymarket Media Group, Hearst UK, Immediate Media Co, Incisive Media, New Scientist and William Reed, as well as 150 smaller independent publishers.

Specialist publishing remains an integral part of the media industry – the sector is estimated to be worth £3.74 billion to the UK economy, employing around 55,000 people. More than 40 million adults in the UK read a specialist magazine each month.
