Project Wingman is an initiative created by furloughed aircrew from across the airline sector. They have created “First Class Lounges” and wellbeing units in 17 hospitals across the UK to allow NHS staff a place to relax, escape and unwind during their arduous shifts. Each lounge is managed by pilots, aircrew and ground crew each day and new lounges are opening daily.

Gold Key Media initially began providing complimentary print and digital media in the lounges. They are being supported by their publishing clients who are supplying large volumes of their titles seven days per week to support the demand.

Over 50 publishing brands are supporting the initiative and they include Immediate Media, Hearst UK, Bauer Media, News UK, The i, The Guardian, The FT, Hello!, Chelsea Magazines and many more.

Chris Horn, Gold Key Media’s Managing Director, said: “Our team are incredibly proud to be serving the NHS in their hour of need and doing what we can to support them. Our publisher and brand sampling clients have also been amazing in their support and flexibility throughout the crisis. Advertising deals are also now being secured by brands working with and supporting this initiative too. We will continue to honour and reward the industry’s support by ensuring we remain operational 24/7 to ensure the news and all of the donated brands continue to be delivered where it’s needed.”
