Condé Nast appoints Brendan Monaghan publisher and chief revenue officer of Condé Nast Traveler

“Brendan is an accomplished executive and an industry thought leader, and I’m pleased to welcome him back to Condé Nast,” said Sauerberg. “His deep understanding of the digital marketplace, combined with his experience and success in the luxury market, will be key as we take Condé Nast Traveler to new heights.”

“No one does luxury travel and lifestyle content better than Condé Nast Traveler,” said Monaghan. “This is a truly amazing brand at the intersection of culture and style, and I can’t wait to work alongside Pilar Guzmán and the rest of the outstanding team.”

Most recently, Monaghan served as senior vice president of advertising at The New York Times as well as publisher of T: The New York Times Style Magazine. Under his leadership at T, advertising profits and ad pages hit record levels. He is also responsible for spearheading The New York Times’ first new section in over ten years, “Men’s Style,” which is considered the most successful launch in the newspaper’s history. Prior to The New York Times, Monaghan served as associate publisher of GQ, after having worked as the brand’s ad director, luxury ad director and executive director, international fashion. Previously, he spent two years as Los Angeles sales manager at Vogue, and before that was wine and spirits director at GQ from 2000-2003. Monaghan received a BA in Marketing from Syracuse University and currently resides in Tribeca.

Monaghan succeeds Bill Wackermann, who will be leaving the company after many successful years of service.
