Join FIPP for events around the world in 2026
As 2026 gets into full swing, it’s time for FIPP members to start marking their calendars for what is an absolutely jampacked year. The recent merger between FIPP and WAN-IFRA means there are more unmissable media events than ever to attend across the globe.
In April, European media colleagues will congregate in Frankfurt to dive into the most talked about issue of our time. The WAN-IFRA AI Forum will take place on 13 and 14 April and will explore AI’s far-reaching impact on content creation, distribution, utilisation and digital audience engagement.
Those attending the event will be able to learn and share how AI is opening opportunities for news publishers to deliver new products and reimagine an attractive user experience.
As the weather starts warming up in Europe it’s time to head to Marseille for WAN-IFRA’s World News Media Congress, held from 1-3 June. The French port city will host the 77th edition of the event, which will see editors, publishers and media executives from around the globe discuss the ideas, technologies and strategies reshaping the media landscape.
At the heart of the World News Media Congress, held at the elegant Palais du Pharo, will be three powerful conference tracks, with AI in media, the future of journalism and revenue and growth all in the spotlight.
The event will also feature exhibitions from tech suppliers, the handing out of the Golden Pen of Freedom award – honouring those who fight for press freedom – and an awards gala recognising excellence in digital media.
Also in June, FIPP will join one of its members, Poool – the French start-up focused on audience conversion strategies that gives publishers the tools and expertise to better monetise their content – for its Audiencers’ Festival in Canada.
The return of the FIPP World Media Congress
The month of October sees the return of the FIPP World Media Congress, with the much-anticipated global event taking place in Madrid for the second year running from 13-15 October.

While the city remains the same, the venue has changed – in 2026 Congress is moving to the Riu Plaza España in the heart of Madrid to provide delegates with even more space for networking, innovation and making crucial connections.
As always, Congress will be three days of cutting-edge sessions from global media leaders. Last year, around 500 delegates from more than 40 countries gathered to listen to more than 50 industry experts.
When not taking notes in the auditorium, those attending will have unparalleled networking opportunities set against the beguiling Spanish capital. Congress will also feature cultural experiences showcasing the best of Madrid and the Conversation Starter app connecting delegates with the right people at the right time.
November sees the FIPP Insider roadshow hit Latvia. Insiders are free events that facilitate informative conversations and networking opportunities in different media contexts around the world, with the Baltic country hosting the latest edition on 5 November. That will be followed in early December by a FIPP Insider in New York.
