Media Voices releases its latest Media Moments report
The Media Voices podcast has released its latest Media Moments report bringing together the key events which have shaped the media and publishing industry in 2022.
Sponsored by Poool, Media Moments 2022 covers everything from the boom-and-bust cycles of the advertising market to news fatigue, the increasing prominence of climate coverage and the impact of shifting trust.
The report also explores why now is a more positive time for local news outlets, how publishers have grown subscribers through newsletters and podcasts, and the crash in expectations of emerging technologies such as the metaverse and NFTs.
“Any relief over the pandemic ending was short-lived with the Ukraine war, geo-political tensions, and a deeply troubled economy all converging to make publishing as challenging as ever,” Jeremy Walters, Editor in Chief, What’s New in Publishing, says in his introduction to the report.
“Yet for agile publishers willing to move fast, opportunities still abound – this was confirmed during our publisher tour of London, as well as our visits to FIPP’s World Media Congress, WANIFRA’s World News Media Congress, and Lisbon’s Web Summit.”
The Media Voices podcast is a weekly look at all the news and views from across the media world, featuring leading figures from media and publishing businesses.
