This prestigious competition, now in its 6th year, seeks the best and brightest new talent in our industry. The Awards are a partnership between FIPP, one of the world’s largest media membership networks, and UPM Communication Papers, the world’s leading producer of graphic papers.

This year sees the biggest shake-up in the format of the Awards since launch in 2015. The main Awards have been split into two categories for the first time:

– Rising Stars – Business, which will look for examples of success from anyone involved in any aspect of the business side of media. This includes sales, marketing, distribution and technology but entries are welcomed from all areas.

– Rising Stars – Journalism, which will for the best new journalistic talent in any field. If you can demonstrate that you’ve produced innovative, impactful work in your field, we want to hear from you.

The overall winner will be chosen from among the winners of each category, with 3 winners selected per category. The overall winner will join the FIPP Board for two years, a unique opportunity to participate in decision making at the highest level of the industry.

We are also delighted to be adding a Student category for the first time this year, building on FIPP’s increasing outreach into the academic community. Open to individual students or project teams, judges will be looking for examples of first-class thinking from both undergraduates and post-graduates, on media-related courses across the globe.
