Vogue Café opens in Bangkok

Vogue Café Bangkok has opened its doors as Condé Nast’s first Café experience in Thailand. Opening under a license agreement with Serendipity Media Company Ltd, the licensed publisher of Vogue and GQ in Thailand, the Café opens as a “Pop-Up” concept, with plans for a permanent venue to open at a later date.

Located at the heart of downtown Bangkok in the famous Ratchaprasong intersection, and home of the renowned Erawan shrine, Vogue Café Bangkok sits among some of Bangkok’s finest luxury shopping destinations, as well as numerous 5-star hotels and is close to the busy Bangkok Skytrain system. It is positioned uniquely for shoppers, visitors and office workers alike to escape the typically bustling area for a quiet coffee, meal, afternoon tea or an early evening drink.

“Bangkok’s rich culture and famous reputation for hospitality and food, combined with an ever changing and vibrant café scene makes it ideal as the venue for the next Vogue Café,” said Markus Grindel, Managing Director, Global Brand Licensing, Condé Nast. “Vogue Café Bangkok will bring luxury fashion and café culture together in an environment that will appeal to “fashion lovers” and others.”

“After eight years on the market, Vogue Thailand has proven to be the leading force in the media industry here,” said Siri, CEO of Serendipity Media Company. “When the opportunity became available to expand the brand’s reach through the launch of Vogue Café Bangkok, we jumped at it. We at Serendipity are extremely excited to work with Condé Nast in this venture.”

Following the success of Vogue Cafés in other cities, Vogue Café Bangkok will open as a 200 square metre space that can cater to up to 60 seated diners plus take-away service. The venue is ideal for not only breakfast, lunch and afternoon teas but also as a relaxing respite post work as the evening winds down. In keeping with other Vogue Cafés globally, striking images and covers from the archives of Vogue adorn the walls, including iconic shots featuring some of the world’s most renowned models and photographers.

Based on the new guidelines issued by Thai Authorities, Vogue Café Bangkok will be open 7 days per week between 8am and 8pm.

Vogue Café Bangkok joins Condé Nast’s portfolio of branded property under its global licensing division. Condé Nast restaurants around the world include Vogue Cafés in Porto, Riyadh and Beijing, Vogue Lounge Kuala Lumpur, Vogue Restaurant Istanbul and GQ Bar Bodrum. Vogue Café Shanghai will also open in the fall.

Condé Nast has published its media titles Vogue and GQ in Thailand with Serendipity Media for the past eight years having launched Vogue Thailand in February 2013, which ranks today as the kingdom’s most influential fashion authority. Condé Nast’s media licensing business publishes editions of the global media company’s iconic brands with local partners around the world.
