World-First Publisher Podcast Summit to launch next month

In October, MediaVoices will launch a brand new industry event in the UK, dedicated to podcasts. The inaugural convening is the world’s first conference focussed exclusively on publisher podcasts, and FIPP members can enjoy a 15% discount on attendance!

Following the success of the Publisher Podcast Awards, which will this year be taking place directly after the conference, the MediaVoices Team recognised the industry thirst for greater insights, and also further networking opportunities, in this area. As a result, the Publisher Podcast Summit was launched, and will focus on the following four areas:

  • Editorial: What themes and topics work well for publisher podcasts, and how can a publisher tie podcasts into other editorial work
  • Marketing: How can publishers effectively publicise podcasts after launch, and what strategies work best for growing listenership
  • Sound & Production: What equipment works best on a budget for podcasting, how can music and sound effects take podcasts to the next level
  • Monetisation: How can podcasting be made into a sustainable revenue stream, how can podcasts be packaged for sales departments

Taking place on Wednesday 5th October at Proud Cabaret City, London, from 9-5pm, the event directly precedes this year’s Publisher Podcast Awards, which – also produced by MediaVoices – will be staged in the same venue.

FIPP members can claim a 15% discount on bookings, and to do so simply go to the event website, select your tickets, and enter the Promo Code FIPP15.

There’ll be speakers on stage from the likes of BuzzFeed and New Statesman, to The Telegraph and Tortoise, as well as representatives from the MediaVoices podcast itself and Sajeeda Merali, CEO of the UK Professional Publishers Association (PPA).

With just over a mont to go, the agenda is well on its way to being completed, and you can view a preliminary here.
