August Myanmar Media is to launch a Burmese edition of Haymarket Media Group’s Stuff magazine.
Stuff has become the first major brand of its kind to enter the Burmese market, and will be the first full-colour international magazine and the first to launch since the easing of economic restrictions, capitalising on the rapidly growing consumer demand for information on technology products in the country.
A test edition of Stuff Myanmar has been sent to advertisers, with the launch issue set hit newsstands at the end of May. The magazine will have a circulation of around 15,000 and a cover price of 3,000 MMK (€2.50).
Haymarket’s head of licensing development in Asia, Edward Marr said: “Being the first major brand of its kind to enter the Myanmar (Burma) market is tremendously exciting. A Stuff Myanmar Facebook page was set up a month ago and has already attracted more than 5,000 fans.
