Burda says the group will focus on setting up and expanding digital brands in countries in which the company does not currently have a strong publishing presence. The group will work closely with BurdaInternational and DLD Media, as well as its Digital Brands National unit.
From 1 June, Burda Digital Brands International will be headed by Martin Weiss, previously executive vice president strategy and corporate development at international telecommunications and media company Millicom. Weiss has been linked to Hubert Burda Media for many years as an advisor and he has supported many digital initiatives at the company since 1998.
