Wolfgang Blau, Chief Operating Officer and President, International commented: “Wired is a powerful voice of the future, it delivers in-depth analysis and research with a focus on the impact of technology on our daily lives. South Korea has long held the status of one of the world’s most connected societies and so it makes sense to now launch a Korean edition of the title. Wired Korea joins the market as the sixth edition of the title, strengthening the network of the brand, which currently reaches over 30 million readers worldwide and is set to grow.”

Yoon-Kyoung Kim career spans over 25 years in journalism across fields of culture, information, digital and technology. Since co-founding INews24 Media Corporation, she has held various roles at the organisation, including Editor-in-Chief, Vice President and, most recently, a member on the board of directors. Kim also spent seven years reporting on ICT in her first role at The Electronic Times in Korea.

“Since visiting One World Trade Centre, I dreamt that I would someday join Wired and now this has come true. Throughout my entire career, I have been thinking about how technology is changing every aspect of our everyday lives – from culture to business, science to design,  Wired is a global voice and a strong medium of journalism for the modern age. I am thrilled to be launching the Korean edition as Editor-in-Chief”, she commented.

Wired Korea will first launch in digital, debuting initially with its website, followed progressively by print, social, newsletter, podcasts and television platforms. The print edition will launch in 2020.

Wired is published in Italy, Japan, the Middle East, the UK, and the US.
