Ecommerce for magazine brands: Essential new revenue stream or a waste of time?

If you can’t sell magazines and ads, maybe sell…other stuff! Ecommerce is a hugely promising area for magazine publishers, especially specialist publications. If you have an audience interested in a particular topic, why shouldn’t you sell them the products that go with it?

Except, as the experiences at both Bauer Media and Dennis Publishing demonstrate, it isn’t quite that simple.
