Esther Braspenning is new chairman of the FIPP Research Committee
Esther Braspenning, media knowledge manager for Febelmag, the Belgian magazine media association, has been appointed chairman of the FIPP Research Committee.
The Research Committee investigates and exchanges knowledge on research and marketing initiatives from all over the world. It also masterminds the annual FIPP Research Forum and Awards which took place 16-17 June in Hamburg – under the guidance of FIPP research consultant Guy Consterdine.
Esther worked for Sanoma in the Netherlands and Belgium for 13 years, first as head of Advertising Sales Intelligence and then as head of the international Advertising Resource Centre (covering 13 countries). In both functions she was responsible for media research and magazine media promotion.
Prior to Sanoma, Esther studied Communications and Marketing in the Netherlands, with a background in media strategy and planning. She is a member of the technical committees of both magazine audience research and outdoor research in the Netherlands.
Commenting on her appointments, Esther said: “The FIPP Research committee is a great initiative, stimulating and facilitating knowledge sharing on magazine & media research throughout the world. I have seen it grow and develop into a very active part of FIPP with the Forum and Awards as a yearly highlight. Being part of this committee, working together with the best marketing and research people in the magazine world, has given me the possibility to see the bigger, global picture of magazine media, enriching my daily work at Sanoma and bringing to a higher level. Having said that, it surely needs no further explaining that becoming chairman of the committee (for the second time) is a great pleasure and an honour.”
Chris Llewellyn, FIPP president and CEO welcomed Esther to the role, announced at the FIPP Research Forum on 17 June: “Esther has been an instrumental member of the FIPP Research Committee for 10 years. She was actively involved in launching the Forum and Awards. We are delighted that she has accepted this position to continue participating and helping with her incredible breadth of knowledge and experience.”
