The brand, which already exists in Singapore, is gunning for Malaysia’s relatively untapped luxury brand advertising market and has recruited writer and designer Monica Mong as managing editor.
L’Officiel Malaysia will be published in English monthly, except for the June/July and January/December editions.
The first issue, which is aimed at the “sophisticated Malaysian female”, will appear on shelves in September.
Mong commented: “My take on the magazine will be an homage to the world it represented to me in my youth, and to the idea of dream living created by the fashion magazines, which pretty much will capture the L’OFFICIEL aesthetic – dare to be different.”
The publisher is also to launch a digital version, LOFFICIELMalaysia.com, and the title will be available for download through Magzter on both the Apple and Google Play store and newsstands.
