How can publishers engage audiences and expand reach?

According to the Specialist Media Insights Research earlier this year, B2B publishers believe events will contribute 18 per cent of their revenue in two years time and even for consumer publishers it will be 6 per cent., UK And publishers are already busy experimenting with online event formats.

Carolyn Morgan, managing director, Specialist Media Online Event, UK, said: “More than a quarter of B2B publishers are already running webinars, almost a tenth are running online events and about half are looking to launch online events. Plus a quarter of consumer publishers are looking at online events.”

The real value of an online event for publishers is to extend reach – creating a version of the event accessible to people who don’t have the time or the budget to travel. Online events are not intended to replace the live experience completely, instead extending the live experience and engaging communities for longer.

The Specialist Media Online Event, taking place on 6-7 November, is for all publishers interested in new innovations and the latest thinking in publishing, web, mobile and online events and provides a complete online event experience with Exhibition Hall, Workshop Theatre and Networking Zone.

A video tour of the event has been released providing a taste of the visitor experience.
