IDG announces IDG Communications leadership team changes

IDG has announced that Bob Carrigan (pictured) has decided to step down from his position as CEO of IDG Communications Worldwide. Carrigan has been invited to join the IDG Board of Directors and will continue as a member of the CEO Advisory Board at IDG Ventures USA. He will work through the remainder of IDG’s current fiscal year, which ends on 30 September, to facilitate the smooth transfer of leadership to the new management team.

Michael Friedenberg, currently president and CEO of IDG Enterprise, has been named CEO of IDG Communications US. In addition to overseeing IDG’s B2B brands, Friedenberg will assume responsibility for IDG’s Consumer and SMB and IDG TechNetwork (US) business units.

David Hill, president and CEO of IDG International Publishing Services (and current FIPP chairman), has been named president of IDG Communications. He will oversee IDG’s corporate services, global sales and international media operations in 97 countries around the world.
