David Maher-Roberts named as managing director, sport at Immediate Media Co

David will be reporting directly into Julie Harris, Group Managing Director, Immediate.

David has a background in both print and digital having spent 11 years at Future where he was a Board Director responsible for the company’s European expansion (via M&A and licensing) and led the global digital launches of GamesRadar & TechRadar. Prior to that he founded Future’s content marketing agency Future Plus.

David left Future in 2006 and has since worked in several roles developing innovative product and business strategies for PE and VC – backed digital media & tech companies, operating at Board-level and scaling businesses internationally.

His roles have included CEO of The Filter, where he helped transform the company from a music play-listing app into a successful global personalisation and video service that powered digital content services for BT, NBC, Nokia, Dailymotion and Sony Music amongst others.

Most recently he has been advising content & data businesses on digital development and strategy via his consultancy Digital DNA. David joins Immediate full time on November 9th.
