Huffington Post introduce HuffPost Arabi

The Huffington Post Media Group is in partnership with Wadah Khanfar, former director general of al-Jazeera Network and Integral Media Strategies, who have expertise in the Middle East.

With an audience of 377 million people living in 22 countries, whilst also targeting towards Arabic-speaking audiences in other markets, HuffPost Arabi will be the first of its kind for The Huffington Post.

Arianna Huffington, The Huffington Post’s co-founder, president and editor-in-chief says, “I’m delighted to be partnering with [Integral Media’s] Wadah Khanfar as we create an independent news source and platform that captures the complexity of the Arabic world, its issues and its people.”

“Together, we’ll be showing a full picture of the region, relentlessly reporting on all the Arabic world’s issues and challenges but also on the solutions, innovation and compassion that are all too often left out of the narrative.”

“So much coverage of the Arab World is from the outside looking in, and the voices of the people most affected by what’s happening are frequently unheard. Our original reporting by independent journalists will showcase the richness of the Arab world — political debates and business news, but also arts and cultures, religions and traditions, food and human stories.”

One particular feature of excitement is the Arabic blog platform, allowing anyone to share their views and opinions on any subject.

The launch is the latest move in their international strategy.
