Maria Vinogradova appointed publisher of Cosmopolitan Russia
Vinogradova will continue her work as publisher of Domashny Ochag magazine and as acting chief executive officer of SIM’s Fashion Press division – a post she has held since December 2014.
“Maria is one of the few professionals in the media market who has managed to achieve success as both a chief editor and publisher,” the publishing house’s CEO Jean-Emmanuel de Witt said. “Her long and varied experience will enable Cosmopolitan to carry out its mission at the very highest level – interacting with the five million women who read Cosmo and creating the best product possible for them,” he said.
Vinogradova left the McCann Erickson advertising agency in 1996 to join Independent Media as a sales manager for Marie Claire. She became advertising manager for Yes! in 1998 and went on to become the publisher of the magazine. She then launched and served as chief editor of the Yes! Fabrika Zvyozd (Star Factory) joint project with Channel One and Endemol. In 2001, she helped launch and also published FHM magazine. She became editor-in-chief of Domashny Ochag in 2004, a position she held until February 2015.
