MPA Factbook expands to include digital editions

MPA – The Association of Magazine Media in the US, has released its 2013/2014 Magazine Media Factbook, the industry source of consumer magazine media research and information. The 2013/2014 edition includes more information related to magazine apps, digital editions, social media and other forms of magazine media. 
“With 90 per cent of publishers distributing their content on mobile devices, the Factbook now reflects this area of growth, and is a great resource for our members and reinforcement of the vitality of our business,” said MPA’s president and CEO, Mary Berner.
There are more than 90 pages of magazine media facts included in this year’s edition. Some highlights include:
  • There were 7,390 consumer print magazines in 2012 ― the most in 10 years.
  • More than 150 print magazines have thrived for more than 50 years compared to only nine TV programmes
  • 64 million digital, magazine editions were delivered in the last year
  • Nearly three quarters have followed a magazine on Twitter and 69 per cent have posted magazine content to Facebook
The Magazine Media Factbook is used by advertisers, agencies, publishers, financial analysts, retailers, members of the press and educators.  It is available in a digital edition and a free app is available at ScanNow.mobi/MPA and in the App Store™ and Google Play™ stores. Using augmented reality, all pages contain interactive elements such as videos, links to social media, and other content relevant to the page and facts presented.
