National Geographic launches local language editions in Latvia, Georgia and Mongolia

The National Geographic Society is to launch local language editions of National Geographic this month in Latvia, Georgia and Mongolia. National Geographic Kids will also be launched in Mongolia.

The monthly magazines will mirror the content of the English language edition of the magazine, with some localised reporting.

The Latvian edition will be published under licence from the National Geographic Society by ALG Periodika, a subsidiary of Lithuanian publishing and book sales group Alma Littera. The cover price is 2.85 LVL (€4).

The Georgian edition of National Geographic magazine will be published under licence by Silk Road Investment Group. The cover price is 7 GEL (€3.25).

iRMUUN will publish the Mongolian edition of National Geographic magazine and National Geographic Kids magazine. National Geographic Kids Mongolia will offer 10 issues per year. The cover price of National Geographic Mongolia is 20,000 MNT (€11) and National Geographic Kids is 7,800 MNT (€4.30).

The latest editions of the magazine expand the international reach of the National Geographic Society to 36 local-language editions of National Geographic magazine and 17 editions of National Geographic Kids magazine.
