WMM licensing event attracts 200 attendees from 30 countries

FIPP’s Worldwide Media Marketplace (WMM) event has taken place Bangkok, Thailand, over the last two days, and was opened by FIPP president and CEO, Chris Llewellyn.
WMM is the only event for the magazine media licensing industry to come together, network and do business. Alongside this year’s WMM, FIPP has organised its first ever Digital Newsstand Forum – an event designed to showcase how media owners are using newsstands in their businesses.
Over the last two days, media owners from all over the world have met at WMM, and service providers have showcased their products to attendees.
Llewellyn said that since 2009, FIPP has been measuring international cross-borer magazine media launch activity. In that time, the number of launches has fluctuated, which is a result of the global economic environment. He continued by saying that more digital launches are taking place now, which is a reflection of the consumer need content to be delivered in the way they want it.
“Our licensing industry is changing,” continued Llewellyn. “We’re licensing the brand now – not just the magazine. We’re living in exciting times – the rules have yet to be written.”
