Hearst Magazines International

A little more than a year ago Hearst Magazines implemented its “months-to-moments” strategy. Hearst Magazines International president and CEO, Duncan Edwards (USA), will not only update delegates on progress with the group’s global strategy, but will share some jaw-dropping numbers which should make the whole industry proud.

House & Home Media

Lynda Reeves, founder, president and publisher, House & Home Media (Canada), is a media icon in Canada. When one looks at the business and how innovative it has been from the start, it is easy to understand why. This session will show how you can use constraints creatively to innovate and – continually – transform business for the good.

Innovation Media Consulting

Closing Day 1 of the Congress, innovation experts Juan Senor and John Wilpers from Innovation Media Consulting (UK and USA) will highlight five of the top innovations from the world of magazine media in the past year. Juan and John will also be back again on Day 2, as hosts on the FIPP Innovation stage at the Congress.

Kadokawa Corporation

In October 2014, Kadokawa Corporation merged with Dwango, one of Japan’s largest online video platform and systems companies, to form Kadokawa Dwango Corporation. Delegates will here from Tsuguhiko Kadokawa, chairman of Kadokawa Corporation (Japan), exactly one year on from the merger.

Rodale

Rodale is considered a leader in and global voice for health and wellness. Building on its established position, the mission-minded company continues to innovate in the healthy living space. Scott Schulman, president of Rodale (USA), will tell Congress delegates more about the company’s cross-platform transformation.

The Kreisky Media Consultancy

In research specifically conducted for the FIPP World Congress, through interviews with top global CEOs around the world, Peter Kreisky, chairman of The Kreisky Media Consultancy (USA), will talk about how top companies create a corporate culture to compete in a digital first world

Time Inc.

Joe Ripp, chairman and CEO of Time Inc. (USA), will open the Congress talking about the transformation of this industry giant since its spin-off from Time Warner, which was completed in June 2014 when Time Inc. was listed as a fully independent company. He will share insights, lessons, plans and thoughts for the future.

There will be a number of panel discussions at the Congress, including one focused on B2B media and another, the final session at the Congress, a View from the Top panel. The participants in these panel discussions are:

B2B panel: EMAP, Grupo Cerca, IDG, and Nikkei

Delegates will also here about developments in the B2B sector, with Michael Friedenberg of IDG (USA), Natasha Christie-Miller of EMAP (UK), Yuko Tanaka of Nikkei International (Japan), and Marcelo Burman of Grupo Cerca (Costa Rica). 

Mike Fredericks of Annex Business Media and Jim Glionna of Newcom (both Canada) will also share their B2B insights in a fireside chat following the B2B panel.

View from the Top panel: Edipresse, Editora Globo, India Today and National Geographic Society

In the final Congress session – the “View from the Top” – Pierre Lamuniére of Edipresse, Frederic Kachar of Editora Globo, Aroon Purie of India today and Gary Knell of National Geographic Society will give share thoughts on the state of the industry, major challenges and opportunities, consider medium and longer term forecasts and share 3-5 thoughts for the industry to focus on.

The FIPP World Congress takes place from 13-15 October 2015 in Toronto, Canada. It includes the Worldwide Media Marketplace on 13 October and FIPP Mobile and FIPP Innovation on 14 and 15 October.
