Cross-platform content solution, Padify, presented at FIPP Digital Newsstand Forum

A new tool helping media owners deliver cross-platform content was presented to attendees at FIPP’s Digital Newsstand Forum today (15 May) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Padify (by Contentment) was launched in January this year, and was demonstrated by commercial director, Christian Price. He said that the company advocates hybrid apps, which use HTML5 content wrapped in a platform reader. “Mobile replica (PDF) editions are next to useless on a smartphone,” said Price, “and don’t provide a good reader experience at all.”
He continued: “content is often restricted if it’s squirted through templates – you need to find a responsive solution instead. We try to encourage users to swipe for discovery, and scroll for engagement.”
Price encouraged media owners to design their digital editions for a tablet initially, because it provides a large canvas, and then the Padify tool’s responsive design functionality can adapt this format for smartphones.
