Duncan Edwards, president and CEO of Hearst Magazines International, elected as new FIPP chairman
The inauguration took place at the close of the 40th FIPP World Congress in Toronto, Canada, on 15 October 2015. Edwards is a long-standing member of the FIPP Management Board, having been appointed in May 2009.
Said Edwards: “In this exciting time of transformation, FIPP is a valuable resource and a powerful voice for content publishers around the world. I am honoured to become chairman, and look forward to working with Chris and his talented team over the next two years to inspire, advise and help our members grow and evolve.”
Commenting on the election, FIPP president and CEO Chris Llewellyn said: “I am delighted that Duncan Edwards is the new chairman of FIPP. As president and CEO of Hearst Magazines International, he oversees a vast magazine and digital media network with businesses in 81 countries, and brings to a huge amount of experience and a deep understanding of industry issues to the role. He has a proven track record of managing change, which will be critical in making sure FIPP meets the needs of its members in every area. His counsel and direction will be invaluable. As well as welcoming Duncan, I would also like to take the opportunity to thank outgoing chairman, Fabrizio D’Angelo, CEO of Burda International, for all the time, energy and exceptional support he gave to FIPP during his tenure.”
