Event horizon: What FIPP has planned for the rest of 2023

After a big intake of breath following the hugely successful World Media Congress in Cascais in June, FIPP is storming into the second part of the year with a series of compelling events spanning the globe – from Hungary to South Africa.

The programme starts on 21 September when FIPP’s series of Insider events – half-day conferences designed to facilitate knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities between national media markets – arrives in Budapest

Magazine publishing in the ‘Queen of the Danube’ – and Hungary in general – has a rich history and the event is the perfect opportunity to explore the city’s adaptability and resilience in a media landscape that’s evolving rapidly.

Joining FIPP President & CEO James Hewes at the Párisi Passage restaurant in the magnificent Párisi Udvar Hotel will be a superb line-up of speakers: Abi Spooner, a Strategy Partner at strategic growth consultancy Atlas; Kinga Incze, co-founder of The Advertising Space: Handbook of Effective Planning & Buying and the founder of a cross-media intelligence tool Whitereport; and Tibor Kovács, the CEO of Ringier Hungary. On 25 September FIPP starts an exciting new partnership with Google and FT Strategies, the subscriptions consultancy from the Financial Times.

Limited to only 12 publishers, the North Star Foundation programme offers a practical and focused 3-4 day course to propel digital news businesses forward. Participants can strengthen their digital journalism, develop audiences, or grow their reader revenue model using a hands-on approach.

Using the FT’s exclusive North Star tool, the dozen publishers can create an action plan and detailed roadmap to achieve their strategic ambitions. Also, there is a chance to gain invaluable insights from FT experts and to receive personalised one-on-one support.

Don’t miss the chance to be one of the lucky 12 publishers involved in the programme – or make the list for the next one.

October sees FIPP Insider, organised in partnership with PressReader, head to the Rainbow Nation, with an event in Johannesburg at the MultiChoice Arena on 10 October and another one in Cape Town at the Nasdak rooftop venue on 12 October.

Then, on 30 November FIPP Insider makes a return to New York, staging a half-day programme at Hearst Tower, and joining in with the bustling Media, Audience & Content Marketing Association (MACMA) Industry Day followed by their traditional, and very jolly, Holiday Extravaganza.
