Schlaefli’s background includes B2B events, and he was most recently commercial director at the UK’s Professional Publishers Association (PPA).
Speaking about the appointment, FIPP president and CEO Chris Llewellyn said: “I am pleased to announce that John Schlaefli is to take up the position of commercial director at FIPP, where he will be tasked with growing the organisation’s commercial revenues. John’s background in the B2B and events industries brings valuable experience to FIPP as does his time as commercial director at PPA. John will be tasked with growing FIPP’s commercial revenues, where the next 12 months sees FIPP running more events in a single year than ever before, and where the digital and insight products will be maintaining their fast-growing momentum.”
Schlaefli said: “I am delighted to be joining FIPP at this exciting time. We have lots of plans to further develop our commercial offering moving forward, helping both members and vendors do business.”
