FIPP launches the Silicon Beach Tour

Los Angeles ()

Drawing on Hollywood’s success and the local talent pool, Silicon Beach is now the largest video and virtual reality hub in the world. FIPP’s tour, themed ‘Reimagining Video’, will combine Hollywood’s storytelling roots with the thriving technology industry to look at optimal video distribution strategies, the move to vertical video, plus audience engagement strategies including user acquisition and retention.

Discovery meetings are targeted with major tech players in the area including YouTube Studios, SnapChat, Cheddar, Vertical Networks, Google and more (final schedule subject to change). The agenda also includes a sunset drinks reception with local startups and an intimate networking lunch with a local thought leader driving digital innovation.

FIPP President and CEO, James Hewes, is confident that the Silicon Beach Tour meets members’ needs. “FIPP is always looking for new ways to help our members build market-leading international businesses. Silicon Beach and its video and VR experts can explain how media organisations can make the most of video. Likewise, the tour environment presents an intimate opportunity to do business with senior peers from around the world”, he said.

Silicon Beach is now recognised as the tech capital of Southern California, attracting hundreds of tech companies including innovative start-ups as well as established players such as Google, Facebook, YouTube, Netflix and Hulu. The media and entertainment sector now delivers a staggering US $161bn to the economy.

FIPP’s Silicon Beach Tour is open to senior level media industry professionals who are also attending the FIPP World Media Congress and is limited to 15 attendees only. For full details and to book your place, click here.
