FIPP launches tablet edition of Magazine World with Stonewash
FIPP has today launched a tablet edition of its flagship title, Magazine World, at the Digital Innovators’ Summit in Berlin, Germany.
The Magazine World tablet edition will be published five-times per-year alongside the title’s existing print and digital editions. The Magazine World tablet edition is powered by Stonewash, a UK-based digital solutions provider.
The Magazine World tablet edition is available across a range of platforms including iOS, Windows 8, Android and Kindle Fire. It has been designed to satisfy its readership base’s growing desire to consume the magazine on various different platforms, depending on their needs.
Commenting on the Magazine World tablet edition launch, FIPP president and CEO Chris Llewellyn, said: “We are increasing the frequency of Magazine World in response to the amount of change and activity happening in the magazine media industry. At the same time we are also responding to our readers’ demands for our most important publication to be available in as many formats and on as many delivery platforms as possible. Therefore, I am delighted that FIPP and Stonewash, who have an enviable record for innovation, have reached an agreement to work together to showcase the potential of tablet editions with a tablet edition of Magazine World.”
Daniel Sharp, co-founder of Stonewash, said: “In my previous position as a publishing director, FIPP was an extremely valuable resource held in high esteem by myself and peers alike. I am therefore extremely proud they have chosen Stonewash to launch Magazine World in tablet format. We now look forward to working closely with FIPP’s editorial team to ensure their magazine app becomes a state-of-the-art example of how to put a magazine on tablet format.”
