Immediate Media launches Clangers Magazine

Aimed at 3-5 year olds, the new title will transport the reader to the magical and inventive world of the Clangers and their friends: the Soup Dragon, the Froglets, the Iron Chicken and more. The inspiring magazine will maintain the funny, adventurous and warm tone of the BAFTA winning CBeebies show, while providing little explorers with age appropriate, fun content.

The monthly magazine gives fans of the knitted friends the opportunity to join the Clangers as they discover new things about space, communication, family and the environment. Each issue will feature an amazing free gift, stickers and activities to teach and inspire curious young minds. Two heart-warming stories will bring the Clangers’ small blue planet to life while space facts and sticker pages will delight mini explorers. Parents and grandparents alike will love the fun, easy-to-achieve content based on the Early Years Curriculum.

Andrea Turton, Clangers Magazine’s editor, says: “We’ve gone where no other children’s magazine has gone before to bring the beloved Clangers back to a brand new audience. Children have always wondered ‘What’s out there?’ and Clangers Magazine takes them on an intergalactic learning journey where the reader can explore their magical, friendly space community. There’s plenty to raise a giggle or two and I hope parents and grandparents will enjoy spending time with their little ones sharing the stories, helping the Clangers to solve problems and getting to know more about these quirky space-dwellers that we know and love.”

The Clangers were originally broadcast over 26 episodes by the BBC between 1969-1972, achieving cult status. The show was re-launched on CBeebies in 2015 to great acclaim and winning the BAFTA TV Award for best Pre-School Animation.

Produced by Immediate’s Youth and Children’s editorial team, Clangers Magazine issue one will be priced at £2.99 (€3.78), with a free Clangers whistle and figurine.
