Radio Nova to Bauer Media

Finnish media company MTV has announced it is selling the radio station Nova – as well as the sales and marketing operations of Nova, NRJ and Nostalgia – to the Bauer Media Group. Following the transaction, MTV will collaborate with Bauer media and strengthen its offering on multimedia solutions to customers.

“We’re selling the radio operations and, instead of owning the business, we will tighten our collaboration with Bauer Media Group,” says Jani Koskinen, acting CEO for MTV. “This will ensure that our customers can also have access to comprehensive multimedia solutions in the future. We will concentrate our activities on developing our digital business, such as the Katsomo video-on-demand service.”

MTV’s news will continue to be broadcast on Nova, as Bauer Media Group will purchase news programming from MTV’s news production company Mediahub. MTV’s news also will be broadcast on other radio stations run by SBS, which is owned by Bauer.
