Prinpia to launch BBC Top Gear in South Korea
The partner is printing company Prinpia, and the launch planned for the October issue. Prinpia is part of South Korea’s largest educational publisher – Chungae.
Following recent new deals in France and Japan there are now 32 licences in total. Top Gear is the most licensed car title globally. The deal was brokered by Immediate Media Co on behalf of BBC Worldwide.
According to Tim Hudson, director of international licensing and syndication: “We are delighted to announce this partnership with Prinpia. BBC Top Gear is a brand with great global recognition and South Korea is a market that will be perfect for the show with a big audience for Top Gear’s car-focused content. With a great new show and presenting team Top Gear continues to go from strength to strength.”
According to Publisher Choi, Jungmin: “With the publication of Top Gear in Korea, Prinpia will contribute to the development of Korean car culture. Prinpia will spare no efforts to deliver the same flashy, fun and full-of-information content as its original UK version which is famous for its credibility and entertainment.”
