Roularta completes acquisition of Sanoma brands
The acquired Sanoma brands comprise: the weekly magazines Libelle/Femmes d’Aujourd’hui (CIM 245,504 copies) and Flair Dutch/French (CIM 74,222 copies), the monthly magazines Feeling/Gaël (CIM 69,132 copies) and the magazines La Maison Victor, Communiekrant, and Loving You and the ecommerce platform She Deals, as well as the websites (including flair.be and libelle.be with respectively 804,135 and 600,841 real users/month according to CIM), line extensions and social media channels of the aforementioned brands.
Total 2017 revenue from the brands acquired from Sanoma amounted to approximately 78 million euros (US$90.5m) for an acquisition price (including pension and subscription obligations) of 33.3 million euros ($38.7m).
The target groups of the acquired brands are pronouncedly female and add to the existing high-quality target groups that are already reached through Roularta’s present magazine brands, including Knack, Le Vif, Trends, Sportmagazine, Nest and Plus Magazine.
Parallel to this transaction, the sale to Sanoma of the Roularta titles “Ik ga Bouwen/Je vais Construire” was also finalised for the price of 1m euros ($1.16m).
