What do connected cars have to do with your business?
According to Telefonica, “80 per cent of consumers expect the connected car of the future to provide the same connected experience they are used to at home, at work and on the move via their mobile phone.”
In another report, Strategy& PWC identifies entertainment (or info-tainment) as one of the distinct connected car product categories, along with mobility management (efficiency), vehicle management, safety, driver assistance and well-being.
ZDnet, in an article on connected car trends, identifies one such trend as apps. “Seeing there is profit to be made in the fledgling infotainment industry, developers are releasing apps suitable for drivers. From weather reports to community-driven alerts and mapping, we are likely to see this trend continue as both automakers and tech firms push the connected car forward.”
How do your business, or can it, fit into this?
There is an opportunity to find out.
The 3rd Media Hack Day@ DIS hackathon takes place on 21-22 March 2015 in Berlin, bringing together media and developer communities to create new products. The topic of this hackathon is the “Connected Car”, and your opportunity is to see what the developer community can imagine for connected cars through your APIs.
Media Hack Day is organised by FIPP and VDZ, in partnership with Axel Springer and DIS partner emediaSF, and takes place ahead of the annual Digital Innovators’ Summit (DIS) in Berlin (the main programme is on 23-24 March), allowing participants to also register to attend the DIS.
