Quality social networking for business, in person

The FIPP World Congress in Toronto, Canada from 13-15 October will be no different.

With attendees from all over the world, gathering in one place, for a limited period, it should be no surprise. But take for example what Peter Kreisky, chairman of The Kreisky Media Consultancy, says about this:

“This will be my 6th World Congress and I’m looking forward to it a great deal. I think the event goes from strength to strength each year. The audience is just so diverse. The fact that the Congress moves around and is such a global event, makes for a truly international audience and a chance to meet people you would not otherwise meet.

“The opportunity to hear from the best in the business is obviously really great. The calibre of speakers is fantastic and it seems to get better every year. But personally I find the networking opportunity invaluable. The chance to talk to people one-to-one at the social events and the breaks is fantastic for me. Everyone is very accessible and I think that’s down to the format.”

Those attending the Worldwide Media Marketplace on 13 October will know that this is basically one big networking event, aimed squarely at attendees meeting to discuss business opportunities.

The Congress speaker programme on the 14-15 October includes several breaks, where delegates can meet and network over lunch and coffee.

But that’s not all as we have several social events where delegates can meet, get better acquainted (or reconnect with old friends) and network.

There is the official FIPP World Congress Opening event at 7pm on the 13 October – it says “official,” but is really a fun-filled, Canadian-themed barn dance (with no obligation to dance, that’s if you can stop yourself!) to break the ice and get us underway.

On 14 October, following day one of the Congress programme, there will be networking drinks in the expo area at the Congress, before delegates have a free night for dinner with colleagues, friends and/or business partners.

Later the evening, from 9:30pm onwards, it is time for the Congress Late, an informal get-together at the Rock ‘n Horse Saloon where you can wind down, kick back, and have some fun with peers from around the world.

After the close of the Congress speaker programme on the 15th, it is time for the FIPP World Congress Closing. Starting at 7pm, the Closing takes at Ripley’s Aquarium, Canada’s newest tourist attraction, and arguably Toronto’s most iconic landmark, the CN Tower.

Last but not least, for those staying on in Toronto after the Congress, we have an all-day Tour to Niagara Falls, one of the world’s most famous natural wonders. Several delegates have already registered for the tour, and experience has taught us that these informal outings are often where long-lasting bonds are cemented.
